Swappin'!

Hello, Lovely Friends! I don't often blog on weekends as they tend to be rather busy for our family, but I really MUST show some pretties before it gets any further away from Halloween than it already is! I had the best time participating in some fabulous Halloween-themed "swaps" and I've just got to show you what I gave/got.

First, I swapped with Amy of Crafting by Candlelight for Debra Schoch's "Black Cat & Pumpkin Swap." I didn't get to take a pic of what I made for Amy so here's Amy's pic of what I sent to her:
I made her a little shadowbox with a tiny vintage ceramic kitty inside (she has a beloved black and white kitty for a pet!), a couple of fabric pumpkins (that are much cuter in person than in pics, if I do say so myself!) and a little jar of pumpkin candy I decorated.

And here's what Amy sent me!

Isn't it fabulous?? The wreath has vintage Halloween postcard images....Cute stuff, right? Thanks so much, Miss Amy!

Next, I swapped with Tiffany for Artsy Mama's "Sweet & Sinister" Swap. Here's what I sent the very sweet Tiffany:

I "reupholstered" a vintage glove box with my favorite Halloween fabric: black and white "harlequin" print! I also covered the top of a cute little black satin round box and a homemade mini-witch-hat with the same fabric and trimmed everything with a black maribou eyelash trim. I embroidered "Sinister" on the witch hat and filled the little round box with "Sweet" pumpkins! And I made her a white quilted pumpkin. So much fun!

And here's what Tiffany sent me:

Adorable "Boo" box....
matching jar and votive candle holders with really pretty "velvety" flowers that look much prettier in person than in the pic here: a sweet tussie mussie made of the prettiest papers
and look at this fabulous vintage milk glass hand! I adore it! And I thought it looked so cute holding the little spider ring Tiffany included in my package! The kids got a kick out of this!!! :)
I didn't name everything but isn't it all gorgeous? She even made me the darling "C" that's standing on the mirror thingie as a little extra treat. I love it! Thank you so much, Tiffany!

And lastly, I swapped with the lovely Ele of A Bit of Pink Heaven for the "Halloween Party Hat Swap" hosted by Heather of Speckled Egg. I don't have a piccy of the hat I made for Ele but here is the lovely hat she made for me. My daughter is holding it and doing a "Halloween Face," whatever THAT is! Isn't the hat GRAND? I got lots of compliments on it this season and I have put it carefully away to display again next year! Thank you so much, Sweet Ele!
Ele also sent an adorable tussie mussie that I didn't get a picture of but gosh it's cute! Thank you again, sweet Ele!

And this piccy has nothing to do with Ele's hat but was from the same "photo session" the evening of Ele's package arriving, so I must show it!!!
Well that's it, Friends! I am in the middle of creating for several Christmas swaps I've signed up for so I'll look forward to showing you all that I make/receive for those in a few weeks, as well. If you haven't participated in any swaps yet, you should start! It's great fun. I was surprised by how much it "pushed" me creatively, influencing me to make some things I never would have made otherwise. Love that!

Hope all of you have a very restful weekend. I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted and this is such a sleepy time of year...perfect for cuddling up under a favorite throw or a down comforter and taking a nap whenever I can. Hope you can sneak a couple yourself this weekend!!!

HUGS...

The reults of the Halloween swaps were amazing. I agree that napping is so tempting but I -like you- have to get started on my Christmas swaps. They are definitely lots of fun. Your kids are precious!
