Fourth of July Weekend

Hello, Sweets! Hope those of you in the U.S. has a fun, relaxing, loooooong weekend! We sure did.

My friend, Jenny Pafford, is arriving tomorrow (Monday) morning and staying for several days so I'll be busy shopping, eating, playing, talking and crafting with her. She is seriously the most hilarious person I know and I am going to laugh enough for a year in the 3 days she's here. I'll show you some "Yummies" later in the week, though!

Until then I thought I'd share some piccys from our weekend...

We had lunch and swimming at my parents' house on the 4th. Lots of fun, good food and warm water. These photos taken at my parents' house were taken by my very talented sister, Whitney.

My girls with my sister, Ray...and of course her Cutie Patootie Doggy, Logan!
Emily and my youngest sister, Laura Joy...

My daddy giving Raychie a "ride" in the pool....seems like just yesterday he was doing that to me! His hair was a little browner back then, though! ;)

My "boys"...Andrew and James. This one needs to be framed. In the evening we went to my inlaws' (next door to us!) and had a BBQ, homemade ice cream and fireworks.

Here's Raychie enjoying her homemade ice cream...

My sweet niece, Brenna...

And here's me with my long-awaited bowl of delicious-ness! I seriously DREAM about homemade ice cream in the winter. It is the yummiest food on the planet!

Oh and I forget...don't think you've seen my haircut 'til now! I have always worn it short like this since high school graduation but it was just this last year that I let it grow out for awhile. I feel like MYSELF again with my short "bob."

Speaking of this last year, my one-year Blogiversary is coming up on Wednesday, July 9th. I am going to do a fun giveaway, so please come back and help me celebrate!

And I almost forgot...my sweet hubby took ALL the kids to King's Canyon for the day yesterday so I could relax here alone and clean the house for Jenny's visit. He really is a sweet and thoughtful guy. :) My grandmother said he is "almost walking on water," which is funny and sweet since she says my dad does "walk on water." But seriously, James is such a great husband a wonderful father. I am so thankful for him! Here's some gorgeous pictures from their trip up there.

For those of you in California, this looks like Yosemite, right? Different mountains but the same elevation as Yosemite, which is why it looks so like it!

Talk to you soon...Wednesday, actually! One year of blogging...what a wonderful year it's been!

The pics of King's Canyon look so inviting - I've only been to Yosemite once and that was 1978! My sister lives in Fresno (gonna be visiting her next week) and we never seem to think of maybe going up there.
I just read about your sweet husband registering you for Silver Bella...you've got a really good guy there - so thoughtful. :) Glad you got in and looking forward to seeing pics in Nov.
Your pincushions look delish. I own some of those milk glass sherbet/ice cream dishes from my childhood (only a few things survived 6 rambunctious kids) & I'm afraid to use them - love 'em. In fact, I have a milk glass addiction. lol. I'm trying to curb it.
Also, love your Southern Belle girls on your girls shirts. I just embroidered a Southern Belle a few months back...I have several different patterns - love 'em, too. :)
I think I'm with ya on embroidery being my fave craft...it's portable - I can take it anywhere and work on it...love the simplicity of colored lines making a sweet pic.

I love your cute, new haircut. I have been growing mine out for the longest time now and it's actually getting to be very annoying with this heat! I might have to go get it cut.
I wear my hair curly when it's short.
I need to know where that King's Canyon is--looks fabulous!
