A Game

O.k. this is a game I play sometimes...just in my own head...but it is oh-so-fun! I'm guessing it's not just me that plays this game, but I suppose I could be wrong. I like to think this doesn't make me materialistic but rather a "dreamer" ;) since after all, if I really wanted to DO this and not just PRETEND to do it, I could. I'd have to charge up a credit card or sew my fingers to the bone, night and day, but heck, I could do it!

No, I'm not playing poker in my head. :) Are you curious? Have you guessed my game? It's called, "If I Had One Thousand Dollars." Ah yes...you HAVE played this, haven't you? I knew it! Or it's close cousin, "If I Had Five Thousand Dollars" or "If I Won the Lottery"? Well just for fun I'm going to play this outside of my head with my bloggy buddies! I'll show and tell my wish list and then I'll tag someone or a few someones to play it on THEIR blog! Fun way of sharing favorite links, stores, products and tastes that others might not know we have....

O.k. so here I go, spending $1,000 in my head....if you want to go to these sites, double click on the titles of each item or any highlighted words!

1)Birdcage Window Panels by Urban Outfitters

As you can see, these are just the sweetest curtains that were ever made. In fact, there are times when I have considered actually purchasing one of these panels and cutting it up into other little happy things. But I would really like them for my soon-to-be studio. $30 each and of course I need THREE so that I can hang two on the window and have the third for making a chair cushion or somesuch.

Subtotal....$90...alright $100 with shipping

2)Incredible Tops from eshakti

These are gorgeous. Simply and amazingly detailed voile tops with embroidery (which you know I love) and the best thing is...they can be customized! As a nursing mother who is under 5 feet tall (read: parts of me are big and parts of me are small!) , finding a top that just "fits" these days is next to impossible! So if I had money to burn, I think I'd be buying these two tops AT LEAST:

Don't they look like something out of a really wonderful period film in India? Oh I adore them. Check out the page of white tops. I think I'd get one of those, as well...perfect with a pair of jeans for a summer night, I think. About $30 each, so again, I'd get three!

3)Polka Dot Panty Clutch by Lori Marie

This is a clutch! Isn't it adorable? O.k. so I wouldn't walk outside holding only this. BUT I would put my makeup in it and carry it in my regular tote, and just KNOWING it was in there all cute and funny would make me very happy! Kind of like wearing a cute pair of ACTUAL panties! ;) I love this! Actually I love everything fab designer, Lori Marie, creates. Everything is bright, totally unique and always FUN! Lots of applique and embroidery which I am in awe of. What I wouldn't give to sit down and chat with her about how we learned to embroider, how it makes us feel, etc. And her studio is adorable, too. See it here, as well as lots of her other sweet creations. She was even featured on the Martha Stewart show and she designs for Pottery Barn Kids!

Subtotal: That was $40 so I'm at approximately $250...

So Sweet!!! I just love this tee.

5) Rosie Flo Coloring Books
No, these are not for my daughters; they're for me! Well, I guess I'd share with them. Maybe. These look like so much fun. My girls will tell you I LOVE to draw dresses. :) Little-known wierd thing about me! I've been doing it since I was a little girl myself! These are about $8 each and I'd get 3 of each of these two...one of each for me and one of each for my girls...

Subtotal: $375
6) Full-Size Dress Form
O.k. there is no link here because there are tons of these and I don't know which kind I want yet, but here is an example. These come in actual dress sizes, so I guess I'd get one that was my size, but I think I'd also like a small one to "model" some of my designs for kids. So let's say two of these, one in my size and one in a child size.

Subtotal=$450

Aren't they just the dearest things you ever saw??? She only has the wedding cake toppers for sale right now in her shop, but you can go to her flickr gallery to see all the sweet little birds she has made/sold! Oh how I love these birds. I do so hope she reinstitutes "the daily bird" by the time I have some money to burn! :) So since I am pretending to shop I will pretend that Ann has a bird for sale and that I bought it!

Subtotal=$500

Marjorie, if you're reading this, I am HOPING that you turn this lovely painting into a print someday so that I can buy this sweetie BEFORE my proverbial ship comes in! Pretty please??? :)

But in the meantime I will just ogle her in Marjorie's shop...

I almost forgot I was "pretend shopping"! So I WILL buy the original above and while I'm loading items into my Marmee Craft shopping cart (which of course would be a delightfully-whimsical cart), I guess I'll add some more Marmee Craft pretties...
The Bug Blanket (this for Andrew's room)
and this one, Tea Time, for Emily's and Rachel's room!
Subtotal= $625

9) A whole bunch of Lovelies from Summersdarling
I can't pick just one! I just love everything she makes! The incredibly yummy cake cover I talked about on Monday is from her store, and as I said, I DID purchase one of those and am anxiously awaiting its arrival on my front porch. Don't worry! I'll show it to you when it gets here! ;) But look at all these other pretties...

Sundae Pincushion! How yummy is this?????

"Just Between Us Girls" Pillow...perfect for my studio, I think!

Delicious jar of bath salts for my bathroom. I just love the pink lid and the roses!

And the pink LUNCHBOX! Oh my gosh. I am in love with this. I have an ivory one like it that I bought from her and I keep my vintage lace/tatting/ribbon/trims in it and it is currently just sitting out in my living room because I love it so much. It is such a delight to see, to open, and to display...

Subtotal= about $700

Gorgeous!

I love this mirror. She used actual vintage roses she collected at flea markets and the like. I just adore this and would put it over my couch in the new house. Or in my room...hmmmm...

But Heidi has a lovely blog, too, which I just started enjoying and you can see here.

11) Little Lady Tote by speckledhen

I love it! This is one of my very best friends, Lauren, and I love everything she does.She just listed this today and I am in love with it! Adorable. So retro-sweet. Just like Lauren!

Race you over there! ;)

12) Nola by Sweet Nellie

O.k. I know I already bought a number of birdy items, but I can't help myself! I LOVE sweet little Tweets! This one is delicious.

With my last $25 (ish) I'm going to "buy" this:

12) 2 yards of this fabric by Rachel Ashwell (tm) Shabby Chic (tm) so I can make some yummy new pillows for my bedroom! Here's the bedding set I have (well I have some of it):

I love it but it needs some added personality. I used some other Rachel Ashwell fabric to make these pillows for my girls and then I sold some, too. Such fun! Mine wouldn't have fairies...maybe roses....
So did you have fun?? I know I did! I loved cruising around with you, window shopping together! Let's do it again soon...
Now to tag some of you..... :)

Oh thank you! Your things ARE "sew pretty"! :) You and Analise and I will have to meet for coffee sometime. ;) I'm anxious to try the little tea house in Old Town. I popped in once before it changed management, but it's always adorable. Have a lovely weekend...and thanks for stopping by!

Lucky me, I have two of those Urban Outfitters panels! The fabric is very lightweight, though, close to sheer, so you wouldn't be able to cut it up and use it for too too much. Well, there's always lining. :)
Good to stumble upon your blog!

I did it! Why do you have like fifty items and I have like five? It's that damn dyson that took all my money! Maybe Oprah will hear about our blogs and see our lists, bring us on the show and buy us all the items!! Yes! It will totally happen! Just believe...
